New Hope City Manager Interview Schedule
Tuesday, May 2, 2023
Interviews with Leadership Team (40 minutes) Interviews with City Council (50 minutes)
• All meetings will occur at: New Hope City Hall
4401 Xylon Avenue North
New Hope, MN 55428
• The Leadership Team Interview will be held in the Civic Center Meeting Room. Each interview will be limited to 40
minutes, and Rich Johnson, Director of Human Resources and Administrative Services, will be keeping time, notifying
the candidates if not on track to complete all questions and assisting with any issues that arise.
• The City Council interview will be held in the Northwood Meeting Room. Each interview will be limited to 50 minutes,
and DDA Human Resources Representative, Pat Melvin, will be keeping time, notifying the candidates if not on track
to complete all questions and assisting with any issues that arise.
• Candidates will have the Council Chambers available for working and leaving items such as clothing, laptops, etc.
between interviews. The Chamber doors will remain open and available to Finalists throughout the day.
• Available lunch options within proximity of City Hall include Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee, Applebee’s Grill, Subway,
McDonalds, Taco Johns, and Papa’s Café. Please refrain from eating in Council Chambers.
• Upon completing the interview with Council, Finalists can leave. Pat will contact Finalists that evening with an update.
• The Council has added a leadership/management assessment with Martin McAllister, Consulting Psychologists, Inc. to
the process for one, or possibly two, Finalists. This will include completing an assessment on Tuesday or Wednesday
following interviews and speaking, in person or virtually, with a psychologist who will provide a report to the Council
to assist them in evaluating the candidate’s skillset, alignment and fit within the organization.
