STATE OF MINNESOTA
Office of Minnesota Secretary of State
Steve Simon
August 23, 2022
To whom it may concern,
The City of New Hope,Minnesota was originally incorporated as a village in the year 1953.After
which, its boundaries were adjusted in 1954, 1955 and 1960 as the village of New Hope detached
and annexed land around the Village of Crystal.
On Tuesday,November 8, 1966,the Village of New Hope voted on a resolution to adopt"Plan B:
Providing for the Council-Manager Form of Village Government".
However, the State of Minnesota no longer uses the term"village" to describe its municipalities,
pursuant to Minnesota Statute Chapter 412.016, subd. 2 (1973). As such, the municipality previously
known as the"Village of New Hope",Hennepin County, was reincorporated as the "City of New
Hope", effective January 1, 1974. At present, the City of New Hope is designated as a second-class,
Plan-B Statutory City.
Sincerely,
(p...ite...., tp .
