CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chair Galstad at 6:00 p.m. pursuant to due call and notice
thereof.
ROLL CALL Present: Chair Eric Galstad, Commissioner Wendy Brostrom, Commissioner Tony Brown,
Captain Scott Slawson, HR/Administration Director Rich Johnson and HR Specialist/IT
Coordinator Walker MacBeath
MINUTES Commissioner Brown moved for the approval of minutes for the July 11, 2022 meeting.
Commissioner Brostrom seconded. Motion passed.
JOB DESCRIPTION
UPDATES
Director Johnson reported back that Springstead indicated they felt the HR Specialist/IT
Coordinator and the Stormwater Specialist/Project Coordinator job descriptions were
classified properly (the former is exempt and the latter is non-exempt). The board approved as
presented at the July meeting. The board reviewed the Community Development
Coordinator/Management Analyst job description and approved as presented. The accounting
technician job description was deferred at the request of Director Johnson.
POLICE OFFICER
INTERVIEWS
The board discussed the interview questions and the job duties and then interviewed three
candidates for the police officer position in the police department.
MOTION Following discussion, Commissioner Brostrom moved to certify candidates scoring 72 and
above. Commissioner Brown seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Holt
Goodwin and Kayla Klingbeil were certified.
ANNOUNCEMENTS Commissioner Brown expressed his desire to resign from the board due to spending more
time at his cabin. He will continue to serve until the city is able to find a replacement. The
board and Director Johnson thanked him for his many years of service.
ADJOURNMENT As there was no further business to come before the board, the meeting adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
