CALL TO ORDER Chair Meyer called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.

AGENDA APPROVAL Commissioner Snabes made a motion to accept the June 7, 2021,
agenda, seconded by Commissioner Toavs. All voted in favor.
MINUTES APPROVAL Commissioner Toavs made a motion to accept the May 3, 2021,
minutes, seconded by Commissioner Isenberg. All voted in favor.
OPEN FORUM Community Meet & Greet
- Scheduled for June 8, 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Lions Park (3810 Oregon Ave
North)
City Communications
- If you do not receive a water bill (apartments or electronic delivery)
and therefore do not receive In the Pipeline, the information is
available on the city website.
- Town Planner Calendar information
o Brad Kallio, Brandi Hearn and Chief Hoyt will compile a list
of community events and distribute to the apartments
Article in Sun Post about Human Rights Commissions
- Article focused on surrounding cities that have had some struggles
with their HRC. New Hope’s commission has been steady in
membership, city support and overall focus.

AND REPORTS 2021 Committee Updates:
Colors of the World Crayon Donation (Lead – Kendra Curry)
- Ready for the fall.
- New school – Spanish Immersion school by Cooper
Increase HRC awareness/Facebook posts/Marketing (Lead - Allison
Isenberg)
- Created a list of topics and working with the city on different options.
- Pursing doing a proclamation for some topics.
Workshop on Home Ownership (Lead - Danielle Saima)
- Presentation by Jackson Pineau this evening.
Community Conversations - Race & Police Interaction (Lead- Donna
Meyer)
- Had 1 meeting so far. Two people attended. Have another one
scheduled for June.
LGTBQ Group Partnership (Lead - Trista Rehnke)
- Golden Valley Pride is June 12, 12:00 – 4:00 pm. Not the usual
event, will be a celebration with a drive thru donation for Prism.
- Working on creating HRC t-shirts.
- Reached out to Twin Cities Pride, July 16 – 18.
Sunnyside Park Clean-up
- HRC sponsors Sunnyside Park and has committed to cleaning the
park three times each year.
- Park was cleaned on 3/27/21, 6/5/21.
- Will schedule third cleanup in the fall.
NEW BUSINESS HRC Pool Party
- There is no HRC meeting in July.
- Commissioners are invited to Commissioner Curry’s house for a pool
party on July 17th at 4:00 pm. It will be a potluck.
COMMUNICATION &
INFORMATION SHARING Celebrations
- Heaven Shaw is graduating from Cooper High School.
- Chief Hoyt is turning 50.
- Treats to celebrate both will be after the meeting.
Jesse Ross & Still Kickin’
- Call to action on Instragram, Jesse is the Grant Director for Still
Kickin’ non-profit and is a DE&I Consultant.
- Still Kickin’ has a tab renewal fund for those in need.
Braver Angels
- Bipartisan communication workshop to branch the divide.
NEXT MEETING The next meeting is Monday, August 2, 2021 at 7:00 pm. Meeting will be
in person at City Hall.
