CALL TO ORDER Chair Meyer called the meeting to order at 7:12 p.m.

AGENDA APPROVAL Commissioner Isenberg made a motion to accept the August 31, 2021,
agenda, seconded by Commissioner Toavs. All voted in favor.
MINUTES APPROVAL Commissioner Isenberg made a motion to accept the August 2, 2021,
minutes, seconded by Commissioner Snabes. All voted in favor.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
AND REPORTS 2021 Committee Updates:
Colors of the World Crayon Donation (Lead – Kendra Curry)
- Ready for the fall, orders are in. Letter for classrooms is complete.
Each Kindergarten class room will receive 1 book (“Promise” by
Labron James) and each child will receive a packet of crayons. Will
distribute when crayons arrive and school starts.
- Mayor will mention on CCX.
Increase HRC awareness/Facebook posts/Marketing (Lead - Allison
Isenberg)
- Working with City on deadlines and the content to provide.
- Will also promote other HRC events, i.e. crayon delivery, home
ownership seminars, etc.
Workshop on Home Ownership (Lead - Danielle Saima)
- No updates.
- City Staff will be helping at Habitat for Humanity House on
September 29 if HRC members want to volunteer.
Community Conversations - Race & Police Interaction (Lead- Donna
Meyer)
- No updates.
- Police are holding a neighborhood BBQ on October 7 at 6:30 pm,
Bass Lake Circle cul-de-sac. RSVP to Brandi Hearn.
LGTBQ Group Partnership (Lead - Trista Rehnke)
- Working on creating HRC t-shirts.
Commissioner Appreciation Event
- Thursday, September 9th, 4:45 pm – 7:30 pm
- Bus tour around New Hope, boxed lunch at the Golf Course
- RSVP by August 31, 2021
Tri City Community Engagement Forum
- Saturday, October 2, 2021, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
- Crystal Community Center
- Crystal, Robbinsdale, New Hope Police will participate.
City Day
- Saturday, October 9, 2021, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
- City Hall
- HRC will have a table at the event. Will compile pictures of HRC
accomplishments.
- Commissioners Meyer, Snabes, Saima and London will attend.
Sunnyside Park Clean-up
- HRC sponsors Sunnyside Park and has committed to cleaning the
park three times each year.
- Park was cleaned on 3/27/21, 6/5/21.
- Final clean up will be Saturday, October 16, 2021, 10:00 am. Meet
at the Playground. Garbage bags will be provided.
- Will send HRC members to the other unsponsored parks again.
Commissioner Rehnke will divide up and distribute the list of parks
and assignments at October meeting.
NEW BUSINESS City Council Work Session
- Monday, October 18, 2021, 7:00 pm
- HRC is scheduled to present at the Work Session.
COMMUNICATION &
INFORMATION SHARING Citizen Policy Academy
- Six weeks with police departments. Registration ends September 7.
League of Women Voters – Redistricting/Mapping
- Chair Meyer attended meeting.
- Redistricting uses census information to redraw the lines for wards or
charters for city wards and state district boundaries.
City Survey
- Survey ends October 1, 2021.
- Can complete online or submit via mail.
NEXT MEETING The next meeting is Monday, October 4 at 7:00 pm.
- Meeting will be in person at City Hall but due to increasing COVID
levels, watch for alternate virtual options.
ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 7:48 p.m.
