Aug. 11 is Primary Election Day
Tuesday, Aug. 11 is Primary Election Day in Minnesota. Th e primary elec-
tion determines which candidates will be on the ballot in the November
General Election (Nov. 3). Polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
and you must vote at your assigned polling place on Election Day. If you
are unsure of your polling location, visit mnvotes.org to fi nd your polling
place and see a sample ballot. Please note the polling location for Precinct
6 (NorthRidge Health and Rehab) has changed due to COVID-19. Precinct
6 voters will vote at New Hope City Hall, 4401 Xylon Ave N.
Need to Register on Election Day?
If you are not already registered to vote, or recently moved and need to
update your registration, you can register or update your registration at
your polling place on Primary Election Day.
To do so, you’ll need to bring one proof of residence listed below:
1. Valid photo ID with current name and address
2. Photo ID and a document with current name and address (utility bill,
bank statement, rent/mortgage statement, lease or student fee state-
ment due or dated within 30 days of the election)
3. A registered voter who can confi rm your address
4. College ID with housing list
5. Valid registration in the same precinct
6. Notice of late registration
7. Staff person of a residential facility

Recreation Corner
RevSports Flag Football for kids ages 4 to 9
Participants will learn the skills and rules of football and will also play
very low key games. No special equipment needed. Programs will be held
on Sundays, Aug. 16-Sept. 20 at Robbinsdale Middle School turf, 3730
Toledo Ave N. Ages 4-6 with a parent will play from 2:45-3:30 p.m., ages
5-7 play from 3:30-4:15, and ages 6-9 play from 4:15-5:15 p.m. $55 resi-
dents/$62 nonresidents.
RevSports Instructional Soccer Programs
Th ese soccer programs, for ages 3-9, are designed for player development
and suitable for new and existing players. Programs will be held on Tues-
days, Aug. 4-Sep. 1 at Hidden Valley Park, 8800 32nd Ave N. Ages 3-5 and
a parent will play from 5:15-6 p.m., Ages 5-7 play from 6-6:45 p.m., and
ages 6-9 play from 6:45-7:30 p.m. $55 residents/$62 nonresidents.
Dance Classes for age 3 to Grade 12
Tap, ballet and jazz classes will be taught this fall by coordinators Melissa
Guse, Laurie Dube and Sarah Hlavacek. Classes will be off ered for three
sessions (fall, winter, spring) but new dancers will not be accepted after
the fall session. Classes are held at the New Hope Ice Arena. A recital will
be held in May. Call for schedule and pricing information.
Three Rivers Pop-Up Programs
Youth ages 4 and up with an adult, can try disc golfi ng, fi shing or geo-
caching in these FREE “pop-up” programs. Disc golf will be held on
Tuesday, Aug. 11 at Bassett Creek Park in Crystal; Fishing will be held on
Th ursday, Aug. 13 at Hollingsworth Park in Robbinsdale; and Geocach-
ing will be held on Th ursday, Aug. 27 at Northwood Park in New Hope.
Session times are 1-4 p.m. or 4-6:30 p.m. Preregistration is strongly
recommended.

City Hall is Open
City Hall is open for business. Sev-
eral modifi cations have been made
for the health and well-being of both
visitors and staff , including the ad-
dition of glass partitions at each de-
partment window and hand sanitizer
dispensers throughout the building.
Visitors are asked to wear masks
while in the building. It is recom-
mended that business be completed
online or by phone when possible.
Rent a Picnic Pavilion
New Hope has two picnic pavil-
ions available for reservation May 1
through Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to
3 p.m. or 4 to 9 p.m. Full-day rental is
also available.
Northwood Park is located at 3815
Boone Ave N. Hidden Valley Park
is located at 8800 32nd Ave N. Both
pavilions have electricity available
and parking lots, portable restrooms
and grills located nearby. To learn

Fall “In Motion”
Brochure
New Hope Parks and Recreation’s
fall “In Motion”, including pro-
gramming for September through
November, will be available online
around mid-August. Physical copies
of the brochure will not be mailed.
Th is online-only version gives staff
fl exibility to adjust programs or
dates if needed, due to COVID-19.
Th ose who have participated in past
programs will receive an email alert
through the registration system
when the brochure is available. Th e

Farmers Market
Have you had a chance to visit the
New Hope Community Farmers
Market? Th e market is located in the
parking lot of New Hope City Hall
on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Are you greatly impressed by your
neighbor’s garden, meticulous yard
or recent home improvement?
Nominate them for a 2020 New
Hope RAVE! Award. Since 2006, the
New Hope City Council has rec-
ognized residents who have done a
noteworthy job updating, beautifying
or maintaining their home and/or
property. Awards are given in several
categories. All residential properties
in New Hope are eligible for a RAVE!
Award and residents can submit
a nomination or even nominate
