CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chair Galstad at 6:00 p.m. pursuant to due call and notice
thereof.
ROLL CALL Present: Chair Eric Galstad, Commissioner Wendy Brostrom, Commissioner Tony Brown,
HR/Admin. Director Rich Johnson and Human Resources Coordinator Walker MacBeath.
MINUTES Chair Galstad moved for the approval of minutes for the June 16, 2020 meeting. Commissioner
Brown seconded, motion passed.

RECRUITMENT
DISCUSSION
The board discussed where the city is in the backgrounding process and the changes in
personnel within the police department.
MOTION After discussion, Chair Galstad moved to certify the remaining two candidates from the June
16, 2020 meeting. Commissioner Brostrom seconded the motion. The motion passed
unanimously. Dustin Hatzenbeller and Matt Klaes were certified.

PROBATION
PERIOD
The board discussed a situation where a new employee has not worked full-time hours due to
the COVID pandemic. The question raised was whether the probationary period can be
extended. Members of the board unanimously did not support extension.
ADJOURNMENT As there was no further business to come before the board, the meeting adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
