PLANNING COMMISSION AGENDA FOR MAY 7, 1985
Planning Case 85-3 - Getty Oil
At the April meeting, the Planning Commission tabled this case until May.
We have been in constant contact with the petitioner and he is as of this
date unable to put together the site plan, landscape plan, and address
the specific concerns outlined by the Planning Commission. I have informed.
the petitioner that if he wishes to continue with this request for a con-
ditional use permit, he must submit all of this data by May 10, in order
to be on the June Planning Commission calendar. If this~date is not met,
then there will be insufficient time to get the information to the Design
and Review Committee and a further consequence will be that the city would
order him to close down his current accessory retail sales operation in
violation of the code. It would also mean that the petitioner most likely
could not appear before the commission until at least August.
Planning Case 85'10 - Patrick O'Meara
This case was also tabled at the April meeting.~ Again we have been in contact
with the petitioner and as of this writing he also has been unable to produce
the site plans for the intended construction project. He has promised that
he will be in on Monday, May 6. Since.this is a single family garage and
family room add on, I am recommending that this planning case stay on the
agenda and staff will evaluate the submittals on Monday and make recommenda-
tions on the Tuesday night meetingl
Codes and Standards Sub-Committee
The only other item on the agenda for Tuesday night is a discussion period
with our consulting planner Dave Licht. As you recall, the Planning Commis-
sion asked that he be present on the May meeting in order to discuss the
Wilder planning case which was tabled Until the June meeting. In your packet
is a report from the Planner concerning this planning case and some of the
larger issues confronting the city.
Some background is in order at this point. The City Council at its April 22,
meeting, requested that the City Planner look at 42nd Avenue, east of Winnetka
and report back to the City Council on May 13th, what are the issues and re-
commended courses of action concerning the whole area. This report in your
packet addresses most of those issues and some of the recommendations. Hope-
fully at the Council meeting on the 13th, the City Council will review the
recommendations and select a course of action to immediately embark upon.
I won't comment on the Planner's report in your packet as I have only received
it on Friday and have not had a chance to thoroughly review it. Staff will
be prepared to discuss it on Tuesday night.
